My main leisure pursuits are:
• Travelling
In June 2004, I undertook the Welsh 3000 challenge to raise money for the YMCA. Click here for a description of the walk.
In 2006, Julie, my partner and I, canoed 60 miles down the Wye River to raise money for the YMCA YIPPEE project. See here
In 2007, I helped organise a sponsored cycle ride from Redhill to Brussels in aid of the same project. See here.
In 2008, I rode Coast to Coast in North England (pictures here) and later in the summer helped to organise a sponsored ride from Redhill to the Mediterranean Coast, in aid of the YMCA’s Counselling Scheme for young people. See here.
In 2009, I helped organise a sponsored cycle ride from Redhill to Paris and also took part in the 24 peaks challenge in the Lake District.
In 2010, I helped organise and took part in the cycle ride from Redhill to Paris, another from Redhill to Gibraltar, an off-road ride from Weston-super-Mare to Winchester, a Snowdonia trek and a trek of the Yorkshire 3 peaks. More details here.
This year, I am again helping run a ride from Redhill to Paris and another from Redhill to La Rochesse. I will be joiining the YMCA to walk Kinder Scout in September.
